Surfing the Waves of Music!

Recently a small independent game came out that has near unlimited replay for only $10, I've become quite addicted to it. It basically allows you to turn mp3's you have into a game, but not in that "guitar hero-esque" style of pressing buttons at the right time, that can be tough for some people.

The idea is, you load in a song and it makes a track to race on. It analyzes the song, sets the speed based on the song, has drops at fast part and inclines at slow ones, even curved areas. The game part comes with colored "cars" which are just basically blocks, you hit them and match up 3 or more for points. That's the sort description, music+racing+tetris...here's a video of The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black, it is not me but I figured the song would be known to a bigger audience than some crazy-fast eletronica song(the fast ones are crazy sometimes.)

There are about 12 different modes, varying if you match one color and avoid grey blocks or if you try to deal with multiple colors, things like that. Plus when you finish a song, it adds your score to the online tracking so you can see how you did compared to everyone else.

No driving skill is necessary, you just move left and right. Hitting a grey block doesn't end your game either, just means less points. You can even take a free-ride mode with no matching up, just for the fun of seeing your song made into a track.

May not be for everyone, but it's a decent bit of fun with as much replay as you have music. It has a 5-song free demo as well. Website is http://www.audio-surf.com/ if you want to learn anymore.

Cookies ala Toki!

After a few weeks of some mysterious delays due to "disappearing" cookies, Toki managed to smuggle a batch out past the monster who eats them all(I won't say who, but the C.A.J.E.E. isn't doing a very good job...)

I must say, they were Delicious! I would offer pictures, but the nice big batch of cookies somehow vanished in less than 2 hours after my getting them, amazing how elusive these things are!

For those of you that visit her blog, you may remember her talking about shipping some packages out last week(and if you don't remember, it's the picture below) When I saw that, I joked that it would be funny if the cookies were in that bag on top, I thought she was joking back when she said they were...

Well, there were two amazing types, one was a softer pumpkin spiced one, the other cranberry/white chocolate chip that are a bit harder(and my favorite of the two, as hard of a decision as that is to make.) The pumpkin ones were perfect in said bag(with the word Fragile printed on it about 10 times) but there were, I'm sad to say, some fatalities in the cranberry camp...though to be fair, the few that did die were just as delicious as the surviving majority:)

I greatly enjoyed the cookies, I really do appreciate them Toki! Even with all the teasing about the bag shipping:) I just couldn't stop eating them, I think that there might have been a couple deaths in the raid last night due to cookies...I hope you are happy with yourself! Thanks again!

Oops, I Did it Again...

Yep, another huge delay in blog updates, let's see what's new since the last one.

The new phone is still pretty kickass, great way to spend time at work or about. I've been hitting about 1800-2400 messages per month thanks to Mobile IM(aol, msn, and yahoo) so I'm glad I signed up for unlimited texting:)

For Christmas I got the complete Stargate SG-1 dvd box set, still chugging along through those and about halfway into season 3(of 10...) so I have a long way to go there:) Talk about the gift that keeps on giving!

I got an ipod a few months back, guess I didn't blog about that. I have had various other mp3 players, but never an ipod. Very happy with it, it's an 80gb classic, I only have 30gb on there so I have a lot of room to expand:)

Weight has been hovering right around 225ish, keep going off and on dieting but it's harder than normal at this weight, not sure why. At my heaviest it was pretty easy, can't explain it:(

I keep buying games, though I've slowed down quite a bit with dvd's(mostly thanks to the stargate set, torrenting, and netflix...) To see how bad I am with games, check out my "backlog" that I don't even have every game in, just the ones that I could think of or I cared about most...

Well, I'll try to post a bit more than once every 4-12 months...we'll see how that goes.
